“Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him (Luke 8:39).

What declaration of himself has God stamped onto your heart? Where were you most broken when God, through Jesus, took the worst you ‘possessed’ in attitude, in language, in addiction, in lifestyle when he cast your past from being shattered to being saved?

Jesus takes from us our ‘long time’ (v.27) status of being and doing what we’ve always been and done to the new creations we are in him.

Never separating the two, this man, as Jesus directed, glorified God as he spoke of the Son. And so can we! Through him, in him, daily, we are (and become) declarations and proclamations of what only God can do.

So let’s go Christians, this New Year isn’t so much about what we stop and start but what has and will be done in us, through Christ.
