Born His Way

But all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave right to become children of God, 13who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12-13

My noted thoughts:

  • Jesus is the measure of true living and purpose.

  • God gives us life through Jesus Christ, not happenstance.

  • Our lives are redeemed to be daily witnesses and reminders of Jesus’ light.

The world would have us to believe in self-salvation: ‘you only live once’ ‘I was born this way’ ‘I am the captain of my own ship.’ That there is no right or wrong way to live. We’re told to live self-intentioned lives rather than designed, purposed, and planned lives.

Life can beat us down when we see ourselves as having no purpose. No value. No worth. Simply ordinary. That we’re just here. But let’s look up (literally) and reread the above verses.

There it stands, there it leaps out at us in scripture. Receive Jesus, believe in His name, and you are somebody, your are Word-perfected, you are stamped, sealed, and secured as a child of God. There it is, what you gain in Christ, and who you become in Christ is nothing short of everything God intended. There is personal relationship, attachment, and purpose. There is meaning to every second of the rest of your life.

Valued, worthy, extraordinary we all are in Christ Jesus the light of the world.

So let’s go Christians, surely you are born His way!

  1. Very beautiful and well said.

I like the quote it is by grace you have been saved to do the good works Jehovah has prepared for you to do.

That is the essence of life, why we are here and what is the purpose of life

  2. Indeed Joseph. That is one of many verses that stick to my spirit as well.
